Egyptian Transportation and Logistics (ETAL) has transported six transformers from two Red Sea ports to the Giza North Power Station on Scheuerle InterCombi trailers.

Each of the six transformers weighed 146.5 tonnes and measured 7.42 metres x 4.31 m x 5.10 m. They were transported on Scheuerle InterCombi from the Sokhna and Adabiya Ports on the Red Sea. The 14-axle Scheuerle InterCombi has a 36 tonne technical axle load.

The first destination for the transport was the Tibin jetty where the transformers were loaded onto a river barge with a crawler crane. The barge then moved the transformers up the River Nile to Khatatba, a temporary jetty, to an offloading facility near Giza power station.

On arrival the transporters were again moved on Scheuerle InterCombi to the job site.
