Events move quickly at Boels Rental

15 May 2015

Dutch rental company Boels has announced its second acquisition this month with the purchase of accommodation and events hire business Yellow Rental.

The acquisition of Yellow Rental, based in Boels’ home city of Sittard, follows a similar move by Boels’ Austrian business for rental and service company MR Drott.

Yellow Rental has customers in the construction and industrial sectors, but Boels CEO Pierre Boels said its presence in events was a key factor in the decision to buy the company.

“We have made our mark in the events sector through its full service approach. This acquisition helps strengthen our market position. In addition, Yellow Rental maintains an extensive customer base in the events sector,” said Mr Boels.

Michel van Mil, Mr Boels’ counterpart at Yellow Rental, added: “Yellow Rental and Boels are an excellent match. This joining of forces will take our service levels and competitive strength to an even higher level. Our customers will surely benefit from that.”

Yellow Rental joins a Boels network of more than 320 branches in nine European countries, employing over 2500 people.

The van Mil family who owned Yellow Rental previously set up Milcon, an aerial platform and telehandler rental company that is now part of Belgium’s TVH Group.
