Seddon's new Taskman series range of washers offer pressures up to 200 bar.

Many of the 115 companies exhibiting at the Executive Hire Show (EHS), the UK's major tool rental exhibition, are showing new equipment. Visitors to the event, held at the Ricoh Arena near Coventry on 11-12 February and dedicated to the rental mark, will be able to see new offerings from companies including:

Seddons: Seddons (Plant & Engineers) is debuting its 10-model Taskman range of cold water pressure washers, which produce pressures from 86 to 200 bar. Powered by Honda petrol engines, they come in both direct-drive and gearbox versions.

Seddon also offers two Yanmar diesel options in its 200 bar models, including a heavy-duty model with pneumatic wheels, a 20 m hose reel and front castor. All of the new washers feature pumps from Interpump and come with a high-pressure hose and suction pipe.

Rounding out the range is a 950 l water bowser fitted to a 200 bar Taskman pressure washer. The combination is mounted on a road trailer complete, with a10 m hose reel.

"We are delighted to be launching the new range Taskman range of pressure washers at the Executive Hire Show. This represents the culmination of several years of product development by the team at Seddons. The range contains both compact and heavy-duty models, so there is a model to suit all needs," said Phil Winnington, sales and marketing director.

Also on Seddon's stand will be a team from Honda holding a ‘carburettor clinic' to show visitors how to care and clean their carburettors using ultra sonic cleaners.

Truvox: New products from Truvox include three models from its Hydromist range of cleaning equipment. One is the 10 kg Lite model, which uses a 2-stage cleaning process and features a 1.1 kW vacuum. Its Compact 250 model offers 250 mm of cleaning width and comes with a variety of attachments for upholstery cleaning. Rounding out its cleaning equipment offering is the Hydromist 55/100, which has a 55 l solution tank and twin, 2-stage vacuum motors.

From its air mover range Truvox will show will the Whole Room Dryer model. It directs air over 360º, allowing drying of a room in as little as15 minutes, said the company. Also at the NEC will be the 2600 m3/hr Air Mover model for drying floors. When placed in a vertical position, it dries walls and ceilings.

New carpet cleaners include the Orbis Duo, which offers speeds of 200 or 400 rpm. The R48 Heavy Duty has three brushes for removal of oil, grease, paint, and other tough deposits. Finally, the Cimex-Encap Carpet Cleaning System is also a 3-brush machine, and it applies a polymeric cleaning solution to encapsulate the soil in a crystal for vacuuming

Hanix: Operator comfort is a key feature of Hanix's new H09D micro excavator. The seat of the 980 kg machine keeps the operator's back fully supported for longer, more comfortable use, and the Japanese company positioned the hand console sticks to allow greater legroom.

The H09D digs to a depth of 1600 mm, reaches out to 3035 mm, and generates 8.3 kN of force at its bucket. The company said the combination of the new machine's 7.9 kW Kubota engine and variable output, 10.8 l/min hydraulic pump delivers suitable power while optimising fuel economy.

Also on Hanix's stand will be the 11.28 m working height, 600 kg payload HA09ZA, one of three models in the company's new, tracked aerial platform range. Hanix said the range, which offers working heights up to 20 m and up to 8.74 m of outreach, has 44% of the tracked access equipment market in Japan.

Hanix will also have on its stand representatives of Independent Parts and Service, newly-appointed to manage Hanix's service and parts activities.

DeWalt: The power tool manufacturer will introduce its new 250 mm dual bevel sliding mitre saw, the DW717XPS. DeWalt says the most important feature of the saw is the new Crosscut Positioning System (XPS), which uses LED technology to illuminate the work area and also cast a shadow of the blade showing exactly where the cut will be.

JCB: The UK manufacturer will preview its new Floorsaw, which gives the operator the choice of running 400 or 450 mm blades on the same saw. It features a depth gauge, 170 mm depth of cut, handle-operated throttle, high capacity water tank and adjustable handle bars. Also on show will be the HM25LV hand held breaker, previewed last year and now in production. Both new products use patented technology to reduce HAV levels.

Hire Association Europe (HAE): HAE is launching a new product that helps control exposure to hand arm vibration. The association has the exclusive rights to distribute the new PDS stikk-i range of products in the UK and Ireland. The stikk-I monitors and signals an operator's daily exposure to vibration, alerting him dangerous levels are reached.

Mike and Bea Jones, creators of stikk-i from PDS Aros, said, "The stikk-i is a small self-contained unit which is applied to the equipment and offers the operator a universally understandable traffic light warning system, illuminating in green and then yellow and red dependent on the accumulated daily use time. At the end of the work period the unit can then easily reset or reprogrammed with a simple data storage function".

WorkPoint Environments Ltd: This company will exhibit the AirBench for Tool Cleaning, an enclosure for cleaning and repairing tools. It incorporates a system to draw dust and debris from tools down through a perforated surface for capture in internal filters. Clean air is returned to the room. The AirBench runs from a standard 13 Amp socket, so installation costs are also low, said the company.

Premier Diamond Products (PDP): PDP has expanded its range of diamond blades, cores and drills with four products. New are: a diamond core drill, the PD162, designed for up to 162 mm dry and 82 mm wet drilling; a wet and dry dust extractor, the PV25, which features an integral power tool connection; a concrete planer, the PCP125, available with 125 mm diamond grinding heads for concrete applications and tungsten carbide heads for removing awkward coatings; and a 1800 W wall chaser with twin 150 mm diameter blades that provide a useful cutting depth up to 45 mm.

Other exhibitors at EHS include many of the biggest suppliers to the rental sector exhibit, such as Husqvarna, Wacker Neuson, Thwaites, Hilti, Takeuchi, and Hire Supply Company.

The show is at the Ricoh Arena on the outskirts of Coventry. For more details, see www.executivehireshow.co.uk.
