Fantasy Island planned

US-based architect DeStefano + Partners has unveiled its master plan for Yinzhou Fantasy Island in the centre of Ningbo, in the province of Zhejiang, China.

The master plan extends an existing canal system creating a new retail centre with pedestrian friendly boulevards and a user-friendly mass transit system that will serve as a commercial hub for both the Ningbo region and the Chenpodu Planning District.

The development will also feature entertainment, retail and cultural venues with mixed-use neighbourhoods to the North, East and West.

At the heart of the development will be a mixed-use shopping, entertainment and recreation centre, or mall that will feature eight International Shopping Streets, each of which is inspired by one of the world's most prominent retail avenues.

A 200 m-high tower, dubbed Infinity Tower, will house a five star hotel and serviced apartments.
