Fassi estimates that worldwide sales of knuckle boom cranes in 2007 were 54,350 units, a rise of 15,164 from the 39,186 units that entered service in 2003. The company said the 39% growth "...confirms that it is operating in a vital field of the market."

According to Fassi, market leader in 2007 was Palfinger, which sold 14,700 units. Following were Hiab with 10,000, Fassi with 9,700, and PM with 4,600. More importantly, says Fassi, is that it took 45% of the demand growth of 6,550 cranes from 2000 to 2007, while Palfinger took 41% of that increase. Looking at market growth from 2003 to 2007, Fassi says it and Palfinger had the same share - 31% - of the 15,164 units of growth.
