The United Kingdom’s National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC), which represents close to 150 accredited demolition contractors, has confirmed the postponent of its Annual General Meeting and Awards lunch.

The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, UK

The National Federation of Demolition Contractors’ AGM and Awards lunch was scheduled for London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel

The event was scheduled for London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on March 27, but due to concerns relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19, the NFDC is now looking into staging it at a later date.

CEO Howard Button contacted attendees to inform them of the decision, saying: ”It is with regret that we are writing to inform you that after much deliberation concerning the Coronavirus in the UK the NFDC National Council have made the difficult decision of postponing the AGM & Awards Luncheon, which was due to be held on the Friday 27 March 2020 at The Royal Lancaster London hotel.

”We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we are disappointed in having to take this course of action but hope you will understand the reasoning for this decision as the safety and protection of all our NFDC members and guests is our top priority.

“We are currently exploring alternative dates to enable the event to take place later in the year. Once arrangements have been finalised, we hope to be able to contact you again with a new invitation to attend the event.”

A separate statement, titled “Impact on Demolition” was posted on the federation website.

It said: ”NFDC would encourage all members to keep abreast of the latest government guidance for businesses regarding Coronavirus and to implement all recommended action to safeguard the workforce.

“In addition, members of NFDC automatically qualify as members of Build UK, who are able to provide further support and resources tailored to the construction sector. NFDC will aim to signpost appropriate guidance wherever possible.”
