Following the sale of its rental arm to Hewden, manufacturer Firefly has introduced a new range of hybrid power systems and lighting towers
The company has launched its new Cygnus range of hybrid power systems which it said had been developed to incorporate feedback from rental companies and contractors.
It said each model boasted a modular canopy design, fork pocket protection to a new environmental control system, and maintenance charge mode.
In addition to Firefly’s AGM energy storage option, it said the new Cygnus range was also available with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP).
“Contractors are telling us about the importance of CO2reporting, reliability and the need for silent power. The result is our most advanced, energy efficient hybrid power system, which meets the challenges for a demanding and changing industry,” Firefly said.
Firefly said its new range would contribute to a wider programme of CO2, NOx and particulate matter reduction on site, whilst also eliminating noise for local communities.
The units can be combined with the company’s Glow RFM cloud software platform to provide site energy usage reports, and data on fuel and emissions savings.
And the company also introduced its new Cygnus 1 eTowerlight – said to be a compact, silent and sustainable LED light for a range of demanding applications.
The eTowerlight offers up to 25 hours of autonomous run time at full power, or in PIR mode the unit can remain operational for up to 100 hours without the need for recharge.
The lighting towers are available with the AGMor Lithium energy storage options and 4 x 80W or 4 x 160W LEDs, while Firefly said its autonomy could be extended with a solar pack upgrade.
Programmable functions including variable beam strength (dimmer), seven day digital timer, dawn/ dusk and PIR, while the lighting towers can also be monitored remotely via Firefly Glow RFM platform.
Firefly said transportation and deployment capability had been enhanced with fork pockets; positioning handles and trailer hitch for on-site relocation. Fully adjustable stabilisers are integral to the new trolley design to ensure safe deployment and continuous use, according to the company.
