The GMK6400 will be the first of its kind in Africa

African crane service provider Mobicrane has taken delivery of a Grove GMK6400 all terrain crane.

The 400 tonne model is the first of its kind to be sold in Africa. It was handed over by Manitowoc Grove dealer Paterson Simons at the factory in Wilhelmshaven, Germany.

The crane will be used by Mobicrane to work in mining, oil and gas service industries in Ghana and the wider region. A senior engineer was sent by Paterson Simons to Germany for GMK6400 rigging and diagnostic training. Further training has been conducted in Ghana by trainers from the factory, a spokesperson added.
