Crawler crane manufacturer Kobelco has launched its first unit designed for the Indian market. The CKL1000i is a 100 tonne capacity lattice boom model.

It is being exhibited at the Excon exhibition in Bangalore, India from 23 to 27 November 2011. Kobelco's first overseas production plant for crawler cranes is being completed in the state of Andhra Pradesh where the CKL1000i will be built. Trial operations start at the end of November and the plant will go into full-scale operation in early 2012.

Demand in India for crawler cranes is expected to expand on the back of India's high economic growth and strong infrastructure investment, Kobelco said.
