“The DMS 160 is a small, strong, drill motor that gives the customer great flexibility at a low cost,” says Lars Gustaffson, product manager at Husqvarna Construction Products. “With three different variation stands, it is possible to drill at many different angles and directions. It is strong, but still light and flexible.”

The tool is stand mounted and features a double isolated motor, which, claims Mr Gustaffson, makes it safer to use.

Other technical refinements include a built-in safety clutch and electronic load/power indicator, which causes power to automatically shut off during overload; a drilling diameter up to 120 mm; output of 1550 W; and low weight (A is 10.5 kg; AT is 12.0 kg and Gyro 31.4 kg).

The DMS 160 comes in three variations: the DMS 160 A has an expandable base plate; the DMS 160 AT features tilting and can be angled with quick connection between the column and the expandable base plate; and the DMS 160 Gyro hasa stand with a stanchion between floor and ceiling.

Also new from the company is the DM230 handheld drill motor, replacing the DM 225, which Husqvarna describes as “cutting edge in regard to ergonomics and design.” The company says the machine uses totally new electronics, “giving the machine increased reliability and a longer lifetime.”
