David Stewart, the former CEO of Australian contractor Leighton, has joined UK contractor Laing O'Rourke as a senior executive.
Effective immediately, Mr Stewart will be based at the group's head office in Dartford, UK, and will work with Roger Robinson, CEO of Laing O'Rourke's Europe hub, across major projects in the UK and Canada.
Mr Stewart joins Laing O'Rourke following a 25-year career with Leighton - which is owned by German contractor Hochtief - where he stepped down as CEO last year.
Laing O'Rourke chairman and chief executive Ray O'Rourke said, "David will bring his wealth of heavy infrastructure experience gained over 35 years in the construction industry and, as a member of the Group's senior team, will accelerate our ambitions to become a world-class engineering enterprise."
