GAP Group is to open a further six dedicated Lifting Hire & Sales depots in the UK just a year after launching the new division.

The division launched in January 2011 with six depots in Bradford, Birmingham, Bristol, Shotts, Tower Bridge and Warrington. The six new depots will open in Croydon, Kinning Park (Glasgow), Middlesbrough, Northampton, Lancaster and Plymouth.

The new lifting locations have resulted in the creation of 12 new jobs.

GAP said it had worked hard to raise the profile of the lifting industry, and received full membership to the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) after only three months of trading.

Paul Glover, GAP’s Lifting division manager, said; "I am delighted that the success of the first six locations has led to an earlier than planned opening of another six locations. It is great moving forward when others seem to be moving back”.

The division rents equipment including hoists, pallet trucks, ladder lifts, skates and trolleys.

UK-based GAP Group operates in a total of 59 locations across the country.
