GAP wins family business award

GAP Hire Solutions has won the ‘Property & Construction Family Business of the Year’ award at this year’s Family Business of the Year Awards 2019 in the UK.

Created by online magazine Family Business United, the awards celebrate the UK family business sector and recognise the diversity of family firms.

GAP’s Joint Managing Director, Douglas Anderson, attended the prize-giving ceremony in London, UK.

Anderson said, “We are delighted to be named Property & Construction Family Business of the Year. It is a proud moment and testament to everyone at GAP Group and their efforts.”

Founded in 1969, GAP has grown to become the one of the UK’s largest independent plant, tools, equipment and vehicle rental companies, with eight divisions and over 140 locations across the UK.

Anderson added, “In this time of economic uncertainty, the long-term focus to ensure sustainable growth embodied by the family business sector will be more important than ever.

“This award only motivates me and the team at GAP to push a little harder. I am very much looking forward to the rest of 2019 and to what the future holds for our vibrant sector.”
