Genie's updated GTH-5519 telehandler.

Genie has debuted its online telehandler operator training program. Genie Lift Pro for telehandlers is applicable to all brands of the machines and is available through authorized Genie Lift Pro training centers in North America.

“This is an extremely important program for our industry,” said Scott Owyen, global training manager, Terex Aerial Work Platforms. “There are no other similar telehandler training programs currently available online, creating a tremendous demand in the market. It is a very time consuming subject for our customers to teach in a classroom setting so our online training program really fits that need.”

The Genie Lift Pro online telehandler training is a program that is delivered through a web-based platform. It is designed to satisfy the general training requirements for Class 7 Rough Terrain Forklifts (Telehandlers) as defined by the ANSI/ITSDF B56.6 and CSA B335 standards and OSHA 1910.178 regulations.

The program runs four hours and finishes with a 57-question exam. People taking the training must pass the final exam, and once they do, a certificate of completion is presented as proof of training. Then, the online training must be followed by hands-on familiarization from a qualified person and employer authorization to complete the training process to become a qualified operator.
