Basel is located is Switzerland where it borders both eastern France and southern Germany.

Road and rail links to the city are excellent, and the EuroAirport is just 20 minutes by car from Basel, 30 minutes from Mulhouse (France) and 55 minutes from Freiberg (Germany). The airport itself is split into two zones –Swiss and French (you take the Swiss exit to go to Basel.)

There are direct flights from many of Europe's major cities, including Paris, Munich, London, Manchester, Dusseldorf, Madrid, Rome and Copenhagen. It is also one of Easyjet's European hubs, with flights to and from 20 European cities. • For details, see www.euroairport.com
