International Construction reviews the global construction market and looks ahead to the next 12 months and beyond.

As an overview, the construction industry globally is forecast to grow 3.9% per annum, between 2016 and 2020.

At the end of this forecast period, emerging markets are expected to overtake mature markets to represent a 56% share of the industry’s total value, and they’ll do that by growing at 5.3% per annum, compared with growth of only 2.2% per annum for more mature markets.

The biggest growth markets in the run-up to 2020 are set to be those in the Asia-Pacific region and in the Middle East.
