UK event and construction equipment rental company GT Trax has moved into crowd control with the purchase of a fleet of metal barriers.

GT Trax is offering the barriers for rent in bundles of 25 for either self-installation or delivery and positioning. Measuring 2.25 m in length and 1.1 m high, the crowd control barriers weigh 12 kg, making them easy to lift and position.

The Hertfordshire based firm has also just added 1000 ground protection panels to its catalogue.

Trevor Tinker, GT Trax managing director, explained: “This was driven purely by demand: our order book for 2013 has already exceeded 2012, with orders coming in from most of the major festivals and some top construction firms from all around the country.

"It seems that most site managers, both in the construction and event markets, are no longer trusting the UK weather and getting their ground prepared in advance.”

The roadway panels are manufactured from recycled plastic. Further underlining the environmental benefits, GT Trax washes the plates with recycled rainwater and worn out panels are recycled back into the production chain.

Each panel weighs approximately 56 kg, which means that they can be laid and positioned by hand.
