Marco van Daal's seminar will be held alongside the first Cranes and Transport Middle East conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in December 2016

There is still time to register for Marco van Daal’s heavy transport and lifting seminar in Dubai on 7 December 2016.

The seminar will be the day before the Cranes and Transport Middle East (CATME) conference, which is being organised by International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine and its publisher KHL Group. Both the seminar and the conference will be held at the Conrad Dubai hotel.

The co-operation with KHL will make it easy to attend both the seminar and the conference. It will be an ideal opportunity to combine a detailed, technical seminar with a day of high-level presentations covering trends in heavy transport and lifting, tower cranes, safety, and the economic outlook, said industry expert and seminar presenter Marco van Daal.

A total of seven modules will be presented during the seminar, supported by more than 500 slides and many videos. The interactive nature of this seminar will teach every level of an organisation to assess a project and detect potential disasters in the early stages and prevent them from happening, van Daal explained.

1. Terminology
2. Dimensions, weights and forces
3. Heavy transport
4. Heavy lifting
5. Jacking and skidding
6. Load outs (roll-on, roll-off)
7. Accidents and how to avoid them.

Commenting on the format, Marco van Daal said, “My seminars are very different from others in the sense that this is not a ‘sit and listen’ seminar, this is a highly interactive event where dialogues take place and questions are asked (and answered). The sessions are based on slide shows with many images and videos of actually executed projects. This gives a true and realistic impression to the audience.

Some frequently asked questions about the seminars appear below:

Q: I work for a freight forwarding company, should I register ?

A: Absolutely, most of the participants are from freight forwarding companies.

Q: Will there be a test?

A: Usually a test is given at the end of my seminars. However, since we have only one day and lots of topics to cover there will be NO test. Participants do, however, receive a certificate of completion.

Q: I am a junior engineer, would I benefit from this course?

A: The seminar is focused on many different disciplines in a company. Engineering is one of them, you will learn many aspects that will help you in your career. Other departments that should join are: sales, operations, management, maintenance.

Q: I bought your book The Art of Heavy Transport, will you teach other things as well?

A: My Book covers only heavy transport, the seminar covers many other topics.

Bookings can be made for the seminar at a rate of US$ 535. For more information contact Marco van Daal, Tel: +297 593 1695 or by e-mail at: marco@the-works-int.com For more information on the CATME conference contact Julia Bossie, Tel: +44 1892 786204, julia.bossie@khl.com
