Hewden finalises Interlift buyout

UK-based Hewden has completed the purchase of lifting and materials handling company Interlift as it seeks to expand its rental capabilities.

The strategic acquisition is the first in 10 years for Heweden and is intended to increase products and services in key markets in the UK, including; construction, industrial and events.

Interlift is a UK regional operator with depots in Middlesbrough, Hull and Glasgow. It offers a range of lifting products and accessories including; hoists, lifting straps, shackles, beam and plate clamps, height safety and man riding equipment. The range is complementary to Hewden’s existing products and strengthens its portfolio of specialist lifting equipment, said the company.

Interlift employs 34 staff and will continue to operate independently while utilising Hewden’s nationwide depot network.

Hewden CEO, Adrian Murphy said, "Our goal has always been to develop and acquire complimentary businesses that have the best people and the best products to support our customers in the markets they operate.

“This acquisition acts as a testament to that and increases our capacity to offer industry leading specialist lifting products and services within our business.”
