Alain Worp says Hyundai Heavy Industries Europe should see more growth in 2017

Alain Worp has been named as the new managing director of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Europe.

At first Alain will combine this new role with his current job of sales director, construction equipment. This is one of a number of positions he has held in a 13-year career with the company.

He becomes MD at a time when HHI Europe is predicted to end the year with growth 5% up on 2015.

“The overall market outlook in Europe next year is not a negative one,” he said.

“Based on today's knowledge we expect similar overall market growth as this year, so HHI Europe should also see further growth.

“However, due to the slow market conditions outside Europe, we also expect that in 2017 it will be the region where all manufacturers will try to secure business volumes and compensate for slow sales elsewhere. This in turn will mean that business will once again be tough and challenging.”

Alain succeeds JC Jung who has returned to Korea and will now head the forklift division of Hyundai Construction Equipment.
