HKL loader aids sports tournament

German rental company HKL has provided contractor AS Earthmoving with a Komatsu WA200PZ-6 wheeled loader in a fast-turnaround sporting stadium project.

The tennis stadium Am Rothenbaum, in Hamburg, Germany, has been converted into a beach volleyball arena for two consecutive tournaments, taking place from 18 to 27 August.

HKL’s rental machine distributed around 995 tonnes of special and washed beach sand over the course of three days. The wheeled loader has a width of 2.5m, which fitted perfectly through the entrance of the stadium, meaning transportation was easy.

Andreas Sonnenberg, contractor of AS Earthmoving, said, “The erection and dismantling of the stadium was hard work, and we needed a reliable partner. With HKL everything works great. Even if something needs to be repaired, the employees are always on the spot.”

Meanwhile, Stefan Hormann, customer consultant at HKL, said, “This job was something quite different for HKL. Here we are happy and strongly represented.

“Our machines will remain on the premises during the events, so we can show a good presence in this prestigious tournament.”
