Mr Marx leaves the company having established it as one of the largest rental businesses in Europe, with revenues of €295 million in 2008 (including dealer partners), ranking it at number 11 in Europe and 26th worldwide.

For the last three years the business has been jointly managed by Mr Marx and Stefan Oremek. Mr Omerek will continue as managing director.

In a letter to colleagues, Mr Marx wrote; "Looking back, I can say that the vast majority of my time has been a lot of fun. I have won many friends, were also a few enemies, but who holds grudges and who is perfect?"
