Arkansas-based dealer and rental company Hugg & Hall Equipment Company has acquired RPM Services & Rentals, a rental business with four locations in Louisiana. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

RPM was established in 2008 by Terry Gold and has around 30 employees and operates from stores in Bourg, New Iberia, Morgan City and Gonzales. It rents to the onshore industrial market as well as offshore oil and gas customers. Its fleet includes pumps, aerial platforms, telehandlers, compressors, gensets, skid steers and dozers.

The acquisition will increase Hugg and Hall’s footprint to 15 stores.

Rick Vollmer, Vice President of rental at Hugg & Hall, said; “The acquisition of RPM fully supports our strategic objectives in South Louisiana, where we see significant growth and demand for equipment rental solutions.

“RPM has become a highly valued and reliable partner to industrial and construction companies. We are excited to build upon Terry’s success and to further the good work of RPM’s fantastic team of rental professionals.”

Mr Gold, RPM’s President, said; “We are thrilled to join the Hugg & Hall team. This transaction presents fantastic synergies for both companies. Hugg & Hall will bring tremendous resources to our employees and loyal customers and together we will execute a smart growth strategy for South Louisiana.”

Hugg & Hall is based in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has been family owned and managed since 1956. It is one of the largest materials and personnel handling equipment dealers in the Mid-south, and is an authorised dealer for brands including Bobcat, Combilift, Doosan, Extreme, Genie, JLG, Manitou, Sellick, Skyjack, Terex, Toyota, and Volvo.

As well as selling new and used equipment, Hugg & Hall has a rental fleet of 5000 items of equipment. The company recently started a Utilities Services division which rents, sells and services generators, compressors, lighting towers and portable cooling and heating equipment.

Stephens Inc served as Hugg & Hall’s advisor in the transaction, while Craft Partners, LLC advised RPM.
