Hydra Platforms receives the US presidential “E” award for export.

Underbridge access platform manufacturer Hydra Platforms Manufacturing, Inc of Rock Hill, South Carolina received in May the US presidential “E” award for excellence in exporting. The award is the highest export honour the US government can give. Hydra's Garth McGiliewie, Sr, chairman and founder, Garth McGiliewie, Jr, president, and Cynthia McGiliewie, treasurer, were presented with the award in Washington DC and met with president Bush at the White House. Pictured is one of the company's HP 32 trailer–mounted models with a 32 ft (9.7 m) platform length. Hydra Platforms was founded in 1985 and sells and rents underbridge units up to 66 ft (20 m) in length.
