Edward Kraemer & Sons had two trailers specially built for a job to transport more than 1,000 precast concrete bridge segments for twin bridges being built over the Susquehanna River in the north eastern US. Dictating the design of the trailers were the 100 US ton (91 tonne) segments that measured 57 feet long by 13 feet wide and 8.5 feet high (17 x 4 x 2.5 m). Rogers Brothers designed the five axle, 100 ton capacity fixed gooseneck trailers. Air lift suspension was used on the fifth axle while the others had a spring walking beam type. Deck size was 35 x 10 feet (10.5 x 3 m) with pullout outriggers for the extra width.
