Improving pre-delivery inspections

10 September 2019

The ERA’s rental company members are pushing for OEMs to improve their pre-delivery inspection (PDI) process. The rental companies say that machines can be delivered with inadequate PDIs, even though the price paid by the rental companies to the OEMs includes the PDIs.

In order to help the OEMs take action, the rental companies have classified the different issues according to their likelihood (how often does it happen?) and their impact (how many rental days are lost to fix the issue?), and they have put together a list of issues to address in order of priority.

The list is available on the ERA website, https://erarental.org/en/publications/position-papers-and-guidance-to-industry/era-recommendation-on-pdis.

If you are a rental company member of the ERA and you are interested in joining the Technical Committee and the face-to-face meetings, please do not hesitate to contact the ERA Secretariat, at era@erarental.org.
