India factory opening for CDE

22 November 2012

Washing equipment supplier CDE opened a second production facility in India in the same industrial area as its existing Kolkata plant on 21 November, an event that saw the attendance of UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Lord Green. The new plant is intended to ensure that CDE can meet the growing demand for its equipment range in India and South East Asia.

Manish Bhartia, managing director of CDE Asia, said: “Our new factory will allow us to build on the success we have enjoyed in India over the last five years and expand our territories into neighbouring countries. We have been exploring the development of a new partner network outside India and have won projects in Malaysia and Indonesia. The new factory provides the additional capacity and superior product finish capabilities to not only increase market share in India but enter new territories.”

While the company’s equipment has primarily found use in the iron ore industry in the region, a recent success saw the introduction of a construction and demolition waste recycling plant for the Delhi Municipal Corporation. This is the first project in this sector for CDE outside the UK where the modular washing systems for construction, demolition and excavation waste were first introduced 10 years ago.
