An open day event in the UK, held in conjunction with Waste Processing Solutions, gave Iona Waste Systems the ideal opportunity to demonstrate its new Airtrac 3200S. The event was held at Peak Waste in Ashbourne, UK. Manufactured in Northern Ireland, the new tracked plant incorporates a Hein Lehmann flip flow screen with a Wisteria air separator and a magnetic head drum. It can be used to produce inert waste in the form of stone, lights, metals and fines that can then be used for high grade recycling and refuse derived fuel. The Airtrac 3200S can handle material from a range of applications, including construction and demolition, residual, commercial, glass, wood, compost and scrap metal.

The machine also features a pre-screening capability for 10 mm, hgh moistrre content fines, as well as precision setting options for all applications, airspeed, nozzle angle and conveyor positioning.

According to Iona managing director Hubert Watson: "We've had a lot of interest and already sold the first machine at Hillhead in June. This machinery is the future for waste recycling, enabling revenue to be drawn from the processing of waste materials."
