Crane Hire Ltd takes delivery of its Liebherr MK140 mobile folding construction crane

Crane Hire Ltd in Dublin has taken delivery of Ireland’s first Liebherr MK 140 mobile folding tower crane.

It is the largest model in the series and this unit was specified with larger alloy mats and a mat rigging device. As a special version for the UK and Ireland it has a carrier on the rear for an extra 3 tonnes of counterweight and there is a luffing jib extension.

Capacity is 8 tonnes while at the maximum 58.5 metre radius it is 1.9 tonnes at the end of the jib. Infinitely adjustable luffing is possible between 20 and 70 degrees. Maximum hook height is 94.4 m and the MK 140 has a five-axle carrier.

Commenting on his purchase, Jarlath O'Leary, Crane Hire Ltd director, said, “this is our first mobile tower crane and for an investment like this we wanted to make sure we were purchasing the right product. With the Liebherr MK 140 there was no doubt. Its operational flexibility is just what we need to be able to offer our existing and potential customers.”

Founded in 1967 Crane Hire Ltd has depots in Dublin and Cork and a fleet of mobile cranes that work there and in the United Kingdom.
