Makita has designed and manufactured in Japan a new range of six walk-behind and three riding mowers, all targeted at professional users, which “makes sure we're in the [ground care] business,” said Andrew Helby, marketing manager at Makita UK. Flagship of the new tractor mowers is the pictured Mactrac PTM1002, whose 15 kW engine, 1020 mm cut and 300 l grass box give it a 6000 m2/day capacity. The new machines add to the current line of mowers sold by Makita and built by German manufacturer Dolmar, which Makita acquired in 1999. See page 47 for more ground care products.
