International Ship Repair & Marine Services (ISR) has taken delivery of a Manitowoc 999 crawler crane at its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, USA.

The crawler was purchased through a grant from the US Department of Transportation Maritime Administration (MARAD), a spokesperson said.

George Lorton, owner of ISR, said, “The crane has fostered greater shipyard production efficiencies, increased competitive advantage and resulted in higher quality repair services to ISR’s customers.

“This crane has contributed significantly to ISR’s maintenance of almost 250 shipyard jobs, and the potential to further positively impact future growth and development of Tampa Bay’s shipyard workforce and local maritime industry,” Lorton added.

ISR was one of 12 shipyards to receive a grant through MARAD’s Small Shipyard Grant Program.
