Although many manufacturers are reserving their big product launches for Bauma next year, there will still be plenty to see at this year’s SAIE show - particularly from Italy’s many manufacturers.

What is there to look out for in particular? The 3.5 t GVW sector is likely to be extremely lively, with the new Euro 4 emissions standards for Europe requiring platform manufacturers to use the latest generation light trucks. GSR, Haulotte, OP Pagaliero and Socage are among the many who will have new trucks for their 3.5 t platforms.

The demand for large platforms will also be evident at SAIE, with Pagliero, Barin and Oil & Steel among those with 60 m plus models. The presence of Bronto Skylift at SAIE - not a usual exhibitor here - is also indicative of a high level of activity.

Also worth looking out for are the large number of new ‘Spider-type’ platforms being introduced (see our feature in this issue), as well as hoists and mast climbers. Notable here will be the new XM L mast climber system from ASClimber of Spain.
