JCB scoops three awards

JCB has been awarded three Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, in honour of its innovation and export sales growth.

The first award went to JCB Power Systems for its development of the Ecomax engine family. New features in the range helped to cut fuel consumption by 10%, while eliminating the need for aftertreatment.

The second award also went to JCB Power Systems as its overseas sales have grown by more than 325% between 2012 and 2014.

The final awards went to JCB Compact Products – manufacturer of compact construction equipment including micro, mini and midi excavators. Overseas sales of JCB Compact Products’ machines grew by 25% from 2013 to 2015.

Lord Bamford, JCB chairman, said, “Product innovation is what drives JCB’s success, so we are particularly thrilled that the JCB engine has won a Queen’s Award for Innovation.

“In the 12 years since manufacturing began, JCB has produced more than 350,000 of its own engines, secured a diesel land speed record and developed a great British business which employs more than 250 people, so winning Queen’s Awards marking our achievements is the icing on the cake.”
