Speaking on “Demolition and NORM: a lack of knowledge”, Johan will focus on the fact that NORM can appear in various projects - not necessarily nuclear - and it is important to spread information about it because very few contractors in the industry are aware of its management.

To get an overview, Johan has been meeting with contractors with experience of NORM and also with FANC, the Belgian nuclear authority.

The objective of the conference  is to foster the sharing of experiences in the management of NORM waste and residues in industrial operations with the aim of contributing to the harmonisation of approaches and the adoption of cost-effective and safe practices.
