UK crane rental company John Sutch Cranes recently opened its third depot and has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 mobile crane.

The 5-axle was chosen for its long boom system with high load capacity, the company said. It has a 62 metre six section telescopic boom and with its 10.8 to 19 m folding jib and additional telescopic boom extensions can achieve a hoist height of 99 m and a 78 m outreach. As the successor to the LTM 1160-5.1, the 1160-5.2 has upto 25 percent more capacity, the manufacturer said.

The vehicle width has been reduced from 3 to 2.75 m which, the company stated, is not only easier to drive on public roads but also considerably better on constricted sites. The single engine crane is powered by a Stage 4/Tier 4 Final emission regulations-compliant six cylinder Liebherr diesel engine.

Hayley Sutch, new MD at John Sutch Cranes, said, “Liebherr manufactures the most popular machines in our fleet. We find they are modern and reliable with sales and after service care that is second to none. Choosing this model to add to our extensive fleet was an easy decision to make and our spacious new depot gives us the room to expand.”
