Australian rental company Kennards Hire has expanded its operations in New South Wales with the opening of a new branch south of Brisbane.

Catering to local industry and construction businesses, as well as homeowners, the branch in Lismore aims to take advantage of a rising demand in the area, which is being driven by counter urbanisation.

The branch will offer equipment ranging from earthmoving and lifting machines to landscaping and general hire equipment.

Jim Green, North Coast area manager at Kennards, said, “Kennards Hire is committed to offering great service with an extensive range of products and equipment. We are excited to be able to offer the people of Lismore the best quality service available.”

Kennards established the new site - its 60th site in the region - by acquiring an existing independent rental business, along with key members of staff.

Jordan Tomkins, the son of the owners of the company that previously occupied the branch location, will retain a position at the Lismore site and “will continue to represent his family and their history in hire” at the new Kennards Hire branch.

“As a family-owned business, it’s important to us that we give back and continue supporting the communities where our people live and work,” said Green.

“We are lucky to keep Jordan on with us, he is passionate about hire and keen to develop there is a lot ahead of him here at Kennards Hire. There will be lots of career growth opportunities for him within the business.”

The opening of the Lismore branch comes just months after the company expanded its footprint with a new location in Sydney.
