Yoshihiro Tanno has been named president and CEO of Kobelco Cranes. He will take up the position at the end of June and replaces Takashi Ishida, who becomes a senior advisor to the management committee at the same time.

Mr Tanno was born in 1943 and joined Kobelco's parent company, Kobe Steel in 1967 following his studies in economics at Tokyo University. He was made a director of Kobe Steel in 1996 and a senior officer in 1999. Although Mr Tanno retired from Kobe Steel in 2001, he rejoined as a senior officer in 2002 and currently serves as senior managing director.

The executive changes at Kobelco Cranes will become official subject to approval by its general shareholders meeting in late June and the subsequent Board meeting.Enquiries 332
