Transport specialist Spedition Kübler Gmbh in Germany was a key player in a record job to move a transformer. Kübler, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) global network, was responsible for the road transport part of the operation that also included transport by air and water. The record part of the operation was that the 189.89 tonne load was the heaviest single piece of air freight ever carried, according to CEE.

Kübler realized the road transport from Longuich, near Trier to Frankfurt-Hahn airport. Before that the transformer reached Longuich via the Rhine and Mosel rivers on the back of a Kübler multi-axle trailer that was rolled onto the pontoon. The road transport was 300 tonnes all-up and 51 m long.

The flight from Frankfurt-Hahn to Armenia was by the Ukraine-built Antonov AN 225 heavy transport plane, the only aircraft suitable for this transport, CEE said.
