LafargeHolcim acquires Tarrant Concrete

03 July 2018

Switzerland-based materials producer LafargeHolcim has acquired ready-mix concrete company Tarrant Concrete in Texas, US.

It is expected that this transaction will strengthen LafargeHolcim’s existing operations in what was said to be one of the most attractive and largest ready-mix concrete and aggregates markets in the US.

Jan Jenisch, CEO of LafargeHolcim, said, “The acquisition of Tarrant Concrete follows our Strategy 2022 – ‘Building for Growth’ – by capturing growth opportunities in our most attractive markets. By being highly complementary to our existing business, Tarrant Concrete will allow us to expand our ability to serve customers in a high-growth area of Texas.”

Tarrant Concrete operates three ready-mix concrete plants in the region, supplying solutions to major construction projects, and has recorded net sales of more than US$40 million.

Over the past decade, the Dallas/Fort-Worth metropolitan area in Texas has experienced an average annual population growth of 2% with 1.3 million new residents.
