Lavendon appoints two non-executive directors

Lavendon has appointed Jan Åstrand and Andrew Wood as non-executive members of its board.

Mr Åstrand, a Swedish national, is currently a non-executive director of Northgate Plc, the UK hirer of cars and commercial vehicles in the UK, Ireland and Spain. His career includes stints with Car Park Group AB in Stockholm and Hertz in Europe. He will join the audit, remuneration and nomination committees of Lavendon.

Andrew Wood is a non-executive director at Davis Service Group Plc, a past owner of HSS Hire that now operates the Sunlight textile rental and laundering business in the UK and Berendsen, which is a Denmark-based textile services company with operations in 13 northern European countries. His experience includes periods with BBA Aviation plc and Racal Electronics PLC.

John Standen, chairman of Lavendon, said; "I am delighted to welcome Jan and Andrew to the Board. Both bring a wealth of relevant experience as we continue the broad review of our business in the first quarter of 2011, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution in shaping and implementing Lavendon's future strategy in the coming years."
