Liebherr Container Cranes has delivered 16 new rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to four ports in Poland, Egypt, Ireland and Russia. The manufacturer continues to increase its share in the container crane market.

At DCT Gdansk, Liebherr delivered three 16-wheel RTGs. The 1 over 4 configuration gantries can stack up to seven containers wide. The new order brings to 16 the number of Liebherr RTGs in operation at DCT Gdansk. The port also operates five Liebherr ship to shore cranes.

In Egypt, Liebherr delivered six units of 1 over 5 RTGs, bringing to 11 the total number of Liebherr RTGs in operation at DP World Sokhna.

The Port of Cork, Ireland, has recently installed a cable reeling drum electric RTG (E-RTG) at its Ringaskiddy facility.

Meanwhile, OJSC Petrolesport at St Petersburg in Russia has taken delivery of six RTGs. The 1 over 5 configuration cranes can stack six containers wide. A further five units, which can stack seven containers wide, are due at the port later in 2012.
