A Liebherr TCC 14000-400 D Litronic lattice boom crane has been assembled in the port of Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.

The crane can be configured for offshore and mobile harbour crane applications and was designed by the Liebherr-Werk Nenzing division headquartered in Austria. It has a dead weight of approximately 1,100 tonnes. When set up as an offshore crane the TCC 14000-400 has a capacity of 400 tonnes at 21 metres. Its maximum under hook height is 68 m.

In addition to this set up for offshore operation, the crane can also operate onshore as a mobile harbour crane. Its undercarriage design includes four outriggers in a 22 x 22 m cross type configuration onto which are mounted 48 wheel sets. The crane uses tugger winches and has an obstruction area of 12.5 m.

The TCC 14000-400 in Azerbaijan has been fixed on a floating installation barge and will be used to construct oil platforms in the Black Sea, a company spokesperson said.
