Ten Liebherr 130 EC-B 6 flat top tower cranes are helping to build Abu Dhabi's Ferrari Experience project.

Set on Yas Isalnd, close to Abu Dhabi International Airport, the Y-shaped domed construction is clad in Ferrari livery. It will cover 200,000 square metres and be the world's largest indoor theme park, according to Liebherr, featuring a motor museum and theatre, kart track, dune buggies and the Ferrari driving school experience.

Yas Island will also offer a Warner Bros. theme park, three golf courses, equestrian centre and polo field, yacht marina, seven hotels and a Formula One racing circuit. The first Grand Prix will take place on 1 November 2009.

Main contractor Aldar-Besix Construct JV ordered the 130 EC-B 6 tower cranes, which are lifting typical loads of 5-6 tonnes. They feature 58 or 60 m jibs, hook heights of 28-48 m and are rail-mounted on 6-120 m long tracks. This allows lifting access to virtually anywhere on the complex, explained Liebherr.

The Ferrari Experience is due for completion in time for the November Grand Prix.
