The 45 tonne capacity LTC 1045-3.1 is a new single cab wheeled mobile crane on show from Liebherr. The manufacturer says its compact mobile crane with 36 m boom supplements its range of all terrain cranes in the three-axle class. It is also designed to be useful in confined spaces, for example, inside factories.

The cab can be telescoped forward for the best view when travelling, then moved backwards for the best view of crane operations. This concept, Liebherr says, solves the visibility problems on city class cranes where the boom obscures driver vision on one side.

The total weight of 36 tonnes at 12 tonnes per axle includes the complete counterweight of 6.5 tonnes, double swing-away jib, 16.00 tyres, Telma eddy-current brake, 6 x 6 drive, and a hook block.

Turning radius on 14.00 R 25 tyres is 7.4 metres. To reduce this further, the boom can be elevated so that the radius is reduced to the turning radius of the chassis alone, which is 5.9 m. Chassis length is 8.9 m, reduced to 7.7 m by removing the front stowage box. On 16.00 tyres width is within 2.54 m.
