Liebherr Container Cranes is completing orders for three Russian ports as its ship to shore (STS) machines grow in popularity in the country. The manufacturer has orders from Vladivostok, Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg all in various stages of completion.

The cranes are already in operation at the port and join a pair of Liebherr RMG cranes in operation since 2011.

JSC Nutep in Novorossiysk ordered a second Post Panamax ship to shore crane. Liebherr's crane management system, Visuscan, will be localised with a Russian user interface.

In St. Petersburg Liebherr has signed a contract with OJSC Petrolesport to supply three Panamax STS cranes. The 50 tonne cranes will have an outreach of 38.5m, a backreach of 15m and a span of 22.5 m. A single lift telescopic spreader, which has lift height of 28 m over the rail, and can hoist at speeds up to 140 m/min. The new STS cranes will join 10 Liebherr RTGs (model RT 6/5/4/ws) already at the port and five further Liebherr RTGs (model RT 7/5/4/ws) on order.
