Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd has secured an order from Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos in Paita, Peru, for one ship to shore (STS) crane and two rubber tyre gantry (RTG) cranes.

The Super Post Panamax STS crane has a safe working load of 55 tonnes under a twin lift spreader, an outreach of 51 metres, a back reach of 17 m and a span of 30.48 m. The lifting height above the rail is 36 m. The two RTGs have four wheels per corner and are capable of stacking 1 over 5 high and span 7 containers and a truck lane.

The cranes are fitted with Liebherr’s gantry align steering system, which eliminates crabbing when travelling along the container stack, and they also have an eight rope reeving system, the company said. The cranes are the first Liebherr STS and RTG cranes to be delivered to Peru and are due for delivery at the end of this year.
