A recent raft of orders for Liebherr Maritime Cranes includes seven mobile harbour cranes in Latin America.

Included in the order was a LHM 600 for Compania Portuaria Mejillones, based in Chile. The LHM 600 has an outreach of 58 metres and a capacity of 208 tonnes. The position of the tower cabin is higher than 37 metres and it is capable of servicing vessels up to 19 container rows wide, the manufacturer said. A second LHM 600 has been ordered by Terminal Puerto Arica for the port of Arica in Chile.

Also in the order were Liebherr Barge Slewing (LBS) 600 for Chibatão Navegação e Comércio LTDA, based in Brazil. In total, three LBS 600s will be installed in Manaus this year.

In Peru, two LHM 550s have been ordered for Callao to increase container and bulk handling at the port. The LHM 550s have been fitted with Liebherr’s hybrid power booster Pactronic and join a further two LHM 550s already at the port.
