Liebherr to launch 300 tonne crawler

15 April 2008

Under development at LiebherrWerk Nenzing in Austria is a 300 tonne capacity crawler crane. The new LR 1300 will close a gap in the product line between the LR 1280 and the LR 1350 (280 and 350 tonnes capacity, respectively). The LR 1280 is a development of a 250 tonne model and the LR 1350 is a reduced capacity version of the LR 1400.

In basic concept the new crane is similar to the LR 1280 but it is a new design. A full package will be available, including luffing and fixed jibs, long boom, and an extra long boom configuration, with conical intersections, for maximum reach.

The second unit built of this model will be on show at the Bauma exhibition in Germany next April.

Look out for more details on this new model as they become available in a future issue of IC.
