A Liebherr 1000 EC B 125 Litronic flat top tower crane has completed an overload test of 158 tonnes at the Liebherr-Werk Biberach factory in Germany.

The 125 tonne capacity tower crane was revealed at Germany's Bauma exhibition in April 2013. It has new climbing equipment for and a cable remote control for the hydraulic unit.

For the static overload tests the crane lifted 125 % of its maximum capacity, a company spokesperson said. The heaviest load lifted was 158 tonnes.

The new 1000 EC-B 125 Litronic is designed mainly for the erection of wind turbines and power station and plant construction.
