The first fruits of the joint venture between Metso Minerals and LiuGong were on show at the bauma China trade show. The joint venture company, LiuGong Metso Construction Equipment (Shanghai) Co. Ltd presented a new 40 tonne mobile crusher built around Metso’s Nordberg C106 single toggle jaw crusher designated as the LiuGong LM J106. The machine was joined on the stand by the LM S48 tracked screen. Both are said to designed for the Chinese market, with the crusher featuring an diesel delivering 194 kW (260 hp) certified to Tier II and the latter, weighing in at 32 tonnes, featuring a Tier III engine delivering 86 kW (116 hp).

According to the company, they are designed for crushing hard stones and recovering building materials in quarrying, mining, cement, municipal road and bridge construction applications as well as construction waste recycling. They are claimed to deliver high productivity, low fuel consumption, high reliability, high safety levels and ease of operation.

LiuGong-Metso is focussing on serving and developing track-mounted mobile crushing and screening plant for Chinese customers. The joint venture combines Metso's knowledge of track-mounted mobile crushing and screening plants with the marketing network and production capacity of LiuGong in China.
